From March 2006 to December 2007 I worked at the Honolulu Weekly, Honolulu's weekly alternative news publication. With the tutelage of Ilsa Enomoto and Eli McIntyre, I developed from a production assistant to ultimately become Production Mangager and Art Director.
Designing and illustrating covers were two of the many gratifying tasks I had while employed at the Honolulu Weekly (second only to working with an amazing and dedicated staff).
Each week 35,000 copies of the paper were distributed throughout the island and over 200 street boxes displayed our paper to the public.
I also supervised and directed 3 designers, illustrated numerous covers, was responsible for the timeliness of the ad representatives, and successfully reformatted the paper from a Quark template to a more efficient InDesign program.
